March 8, 2016
It has been five years since our family began its “adSventures” in Beijing during the Spring of 2011. The posts on this blog from that time, sweet and chatty, hint at nothing.
It has been four years since we lost Cece.
Last year Art received his second Fulbright Scholar award to China: another brilliant opportunity to return to this land we love. Accordingly, we should have arrived here in Chengdu last September, and settled in for an entire school year, with Art teaching for two semesters at Sichuan University, Elle completing a full year of 6th grade, and me seizing desperately needed time to make a dent in my “life” project. Delayed by obligations, we are here only now. Four months in the Spring of 2016.
A brief but necessary return. We’ll make the most of it.
